My name is Patrick Klaiber and I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Developmental Psychology. In my research, I examine daily life across the adult life span with a special focus on positive experiences and stressors. I am especially interested in how differences in daily life processes contribute to long-term health, well-being and successful aging. I completed my Doctoral Studies at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada and earned degrees from the Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Freiburg, Germany.
Project Title
Emotional Resources for Daily Cognitive Functioning
Systemic or behavioral change(s) addressed
Adaptive Emotion Regulation
Theoretical approach
As societal changes require people to work longer in cognitively demanding jobs, they need effective resources to maintain their cognitive functioning. This project will take a within-person approach to (1) identify age-specific daily emotional resources that can buffer cognitive demands and (2) design a personalized intervention to enhance such resources.
Empirical research strategies
Experience Sampling, Ambulatory Cognitive Tests
Possibilities for inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration
Cognitive Psychology, Human Resources
I am also interested in better understanding adaptation to climate change from a behavioral perspective.
Social transition(s) addressed
Demographic Changes
